Rhodes MK8 Classic

The MK8 Classic is the instrument the Rhodes name was built on — the tine sound that sat under half the records made in the seventies — rebuilt by Rhodes Music Group in England to tolerances the originals never had.

Rhodes MK8 Classic on chrome legs in the Pierre's Fine Pianos showroom

The classic, reimagined

The Rhodes that started it, built to modern tolerances.

What you get is the same electromechanical action: a hammer strikes a tine, a pickup reads it, and nothing in that chain is a sample. What has changed is everything around it. The keybed is a Kluge Klaviaturen spruce action, the same maker that supplies concert grands. MIDI is built in rather than retrofitted, so it drives a rig without a separate controller.

The silver control panel carries the preamp, a three-band EQ, and the vari-pan section. It is a working instrument rather than a museum piece — but it looks and behaves like the thing you remember.

If you have played a Rhodes before, this is the one that will feel like the instrument you remember.
